CO-DESIGN FOR DESIGNGOV

Background:

DesignGov was an 18 month experimental pilot funded by the Australian Federal Government.

The mission of DesignGov was to demonstrate the value of design-led innovation on complex, strategic, multi-agency issues facing citizens, businesses or communities in Australia over an 18 month pilot period. I consulted to DesignGov towards the end of the pilot, designing and delivering their second last co-design prototyping workshop. I was focussed on one of six service concepts that emerged from DesignGov’s preceding design research work.

The brief:

Design and deliver a co-design workshop to develop concepts for One.Conultation.gov.au, an online service to support government consultation with businesses and peak bodies.

Approach:

A series of activities/methods, templates, and facilitator notes were delivered where participants discussed

i. an ideal end state

ii. learnings from past initiatives

iii. brianstormed concepts for the service

iv. developed, refined and pitched design concepts.

The One.Consultation initiative was one of six prototyped service concepts developed by DesignGov.

Project role

This was a direct client for my consulting brand Sticky Design Studio. I designed the workshop and provided facilitator notes for other facilitators. I designed and led the workshop and created the report.
